The eagerly awaited album release from CeSoul Music's Carl Henry hits the streets on Tuesday 1st November, on the CeSoul imprint via DEP/Universal. A Montreal native and three time consecutive Juno Award nominee, Carl Henry continues to blaze a trail as "a true Canadian urban music ambassador" with the release of this 16 track set.
Steeped in dancehall, reggae and urban rhythms with pop inclinations, "I Wish" represents Carl Henry's very own musical smorgasboard and showcases the artist's versatility.
 
The album includes previous anthems like "Homie's Girl", "Bare As She Dare" and "Hot Gal" as well as future classics such as the current single "I Wish" (presently Top 25 on the CHR charts), "One More Time" (Encore, Otra Vez), "Little Mama","Can't Believe" (Crisis), "Beautiful" and "Doesn't Matter". Guests on the disc include Elephant Man, CeCile and JR Writer with production credits coming from Red One (Christian Milian, A-Teens), Mr. Doo (Shaggy), Leftside & Esco (Sean Paul),  and Bizzo (Mary J Blige)..  
 

"I Wish" the album, includes a special bonus DVD "A Closer Look At Carl Henry", that includes videos, live performances, interviews and more. This is an indepth retrospective of the emerging Canadian star.    

Versatile Montreal based crooner, Carl Henry, has snagged a fourth consecutive Juno Awards nomination. The hot property urban artist, received a nod in the "Best Reggae Recording" category, for his infectious Top 40 reggae/dancehall crossover single "Hot Gal". The nominees for the 35th edition of the prestigious Canadian awards, were announced Wednesday, 14th February 2006 in Toronto. The 2006 Juno Awards show will be held in Halifax, Nova Scotia, on Sunday, 2nd April.   

The History
Jamaican-born, and raised in Montreal, Carl Henry began his musical career as a member of his church choir. Years of dedicated singing and vocal training have paid off for this talented and compelling recording artist and songwriter, his smooth voice and authentic vocal styling continues to woo fans and critics alike as he weaves through the contemporary fare of today's pop sounds.

Carl's break came when signed by Cecil Collins (CEO of CeSoul Music). He debuted his recording career with the Billboard charted singles Crazy Love and I'm Thinking. This was followed by the simultaneous release of his full-length debut albums "RNB" (in English) and "Solution RNB" (in French). This "labour of love" featured a star-studded production team, including Great Dane (Monica, Freddie Jackson), K-Fam (Destiny's Child), and Canada's own J Rome (Maestro, Ghetto Concept). "RNB" yielded the singles "One Night Stand", "Sex U", "Did U Really", "Gimme Love" and "Being With You". The release was a solid reflection of Carl Henry's soul/r&b/pop inclinations and in 2003 he was honoured with an Urban X-Posure Award, as well as a Juno nomination for the RNB.

In late 2003, Carl Henry returned to his roots with the international release of "Homie's Girl", produced by Mr Doo from Shaggy's Big Yard Camp on the Juicy Riddim compilation (VP/Island). The Maxi CD single which was released by CeSoul Music in Canada and distributed by DEP, was one of the most requested tracks at Canadian CHR & Urban radio, as well as crossing over to major HOT AC outlets like CHUM-FM as well as gaining him another Juno nomination. The video, which was shot in Jamaica, enjoyed rotation at Much More Music, Much Vibe, MTV2 and bpm:tv in Canada, TVJ and ETV in Jamaica, as well as on Mun2 worldwide.

2004 was somewhat of a true breakout year for Carl Henry with another Juno nomination (Homie's Girl). The single "Bare As She Dare" received worldwide notoriety, as it was licensed in over 20 territories to various major and major independent labels including Universal (Germany), Sony (Australia/New Zealand), Incentive (UK), EMI (Saudi Arabia/UAE), Happy Music (France), Blanco Y Negro (Spain) and Digidance (Benelux). His international profile was bolstered by a European tour in summer of 2004 with Sean Paul, Beenie Man and TOK he also performed at numerous events in Jamaica, US and here at home throughout the year, establishing himself as a true Canadian "urban music ambassador".
Back at home "Bare As She Dare" attained CHR Top 40 status, and became a virtual club anthem. The track was nominated for an Urban Music Award and received a Juno nomination nod in '05

The seasoned road warrior is set to release his sophomore album in September 2005, which will undoubtedly be an essential selection.
